Welcome to Medieval Yore.
These are the rules of this land. Please respect them when you enter.

- No Kill/No Deathblows. This means chopping off someone's head against the rules too unless it is like a blob that doesn't die if you cut off it's head. All killing should be agreed to BEFORE it is done. Example of which: Humans can survive a limb being cut off but not a beheading. Characters that are temporary and that can be killed without permission can be named with NPC or asked for permission beforehand. Examples of which could be NPC - Bear or even Bear (NPC). The NPC Bear can attack a character and be killed for sport of an adventure.
- Post for post. Initiating abductions and a fight scene can be three posted as well as post for post but it is in people's best interest to hear what is the outcome of a certain attack approach before continuing. For example, if some creature is uneffected by fire, their response would tip you off for your next approach. This is a site of stories, epics of the heart or adventures. While a quick three post can be good to start a fight, the post for post method is the style of play for Medieval Yore. The definition of post for post play here means making a post and waiting for a response from whom a post is made against.
- No God, Goddess, Demi-Gods, nor Deities. This also includes ANY character even Dragons if it has only one method to be hurt or killed. The character cannot draw on the powers of heaven or hell. Every character must need sustenance, food of some sort and must be able to be injured by a weapon. To affect the physical world, the character must be affected by the physical world as well.
- Five Day Abduction Limit. From the moment you kidnap someone to 120 hours/5 days later... The player must have the option of the character being free again. If all players agree, a capture may last longer than the set five days. We hope this will help those with only a few characters to stay in the game more and not be kept from playing too long. The character can be ransomed, or they can escape, or released... by whatever means may flow with the scene.
- That which starts in the realm stays in the realm unless agreed to otherwise. Abductees and collars may not be taken to other realms unless openly agreed to by the abductee. Medieval Yore's rules are different than other realms and characters intended for here must stay here unless the player chooses to take them to another realm. Medieval Yore is in an isolated location. Magical travel between this realm and others has been Tempered by ancient obelisks.
- All rooms must have a means of escape. There must be a magical (if the room allows ANY type of magic) and a nonmagical means of exit from a room. It may be difficult for people to find or to do, but they must exist. Rooms that limit magic can limit kinds of magic (Light, Dark, Healing, Elven, or faerie, etc) but cannot limit it to just magic being cast by certain people alone.
- Magic must be kept within reasonable means. The rule of no deities partly covers this in that characters cannot draw upon the powers of other planes, nor heaven, nor hell. Magic cannot be unlimited and cannot go without consequence. Within these lands, all characters including dragons will need to be in their true form in order to cast magic. It also takes time to cast the stronger spells and hence, is not always the best to use in a fight. The stronger the spell, the more posts required to cast such.
Note: Please keep in mind that Medieval Yore is here for adventure and roleplay versus a game of winners and losers. Players AND characters cannot be under the age of 18. This is part of the Rules of SOI. Children might be referred to but cannot take active part in the game. This and all other Rules of SOI still apply.
