Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Can I bring Beware characters into Medieval Yore?
In order to bring Beware characters can into Medieval Yore, they will have to travel over high treacherous mountains either to the west or east of the lands. Or they could have travelled in the ocean and landed on the shores to the north. To the south, the land is mostly uncharted and is a long journey to circle around the mountain ranges but that can be done. There are obelisks throughout the land that makes just appearing into the lands magically an impossibility. There are a number of rules that apply within Medieval Yore that are not used in Beware. The character cannot be a deity. Please read them before participating. --Rules of Medieval Yore--
- Is magic allowed in Medieval Yore?
To an extent, yes. Magic is toned down within Medieval Yore for magic has its price and cannot be used endlessly. Also, no character is to draw on the powers of heaven or hell within Medieval Yore. Within the story, it is the obelisks that prevent such. The deities are not taking part in Medieval Yore.
- Can I just join in? Can I have a character that has been here for sometime?
Medieval Yore is a post for post realm. One might be able to smoothly initiate a fight with a three post between players and characters that have interacted for some time. Please remember this is a post for post realm. As to a character that is a native, that is possible. The main story and idea behind Medieval Yore that should also be considered is that this is an isolated area due to the terrain and also some unknown events has made it a place that has not been thickly populated other than possibly by monsters. With castles, there is more to read before taking on a castle within a character's story. None can be of the true heirs to any of the castles within the realm. Other than reading the rules over as well, do join in. The realm is not banning any particular players.
- Can a vampire be brought into the realm?
Vampires we will allow if kept in mind that they are not all powerful. Vampires in medieval could not use excessive amounts of power because powers cannot be endless. There should not be any form of drawing on the powers of hell in their abilities. A vampire if explained to be a real thing can be said to be a disease of the blood which requires them to ingest more blood in order for them to survive and it gives them strength. Hence, the longer it has been since they've drank blood, the less powerful they are. Even with full strength though, every being needs weaknesses. We must also keep in mind that there cannot be a deathblow made within medieval without prior consent. Also keep in mind that this is a post for post realm. Vampires within this realm may sound difficult with those constraints but think of them as beings and not demons and it can flow. In those ages, they were thought to be real and if we keep in mind we are here for a story and not to be the most powerful being, then they would be accepted.
- Medieval Yore is a Post per Post realm.
Post for post is the style of play within this realm. It is the default and the rule. To three post requires all the players involved in the scene to agree to three post playing and hence, can be done in closed rooms where another character that had not agreed to such would not enter unknowingly. Initiating a fight or abduction can be done three post style but only the start because the fight itself will return to post for post unless there is the agreement on a three post fight. Post for post means that for the post you make to someone, their response is required before doing something more to or with them. As patient and understanding players, sometimes an additional post is taken in consideration but the reactions are still needed to continue with that character for it cannot be assumed that the result would be as desired even if it is an action as small as a handshake. A player cannot dictate the response of another player's character unless given permission to do so.
